Renewal by Andersen® revolutionized the window replacement industry with an innovative material called Fibrex®. Used in various Andersen® window products, Fibrex is a composite material that combines the low-maintenance features of vinyl with the strength and durability of wood.

What You Should Know About Fibrex®
Since Fibrex material doesn’t contract or expand with changes in temperature, it is considered to be long lasting and two times stronger than vinyl.
As part of our commitment to quality, we ensure that our windows go through rigorous tests all the time. But to really prove how well our replacement windows hold up after several years, Renewal by Andersen conducted a long-term durability test on 10 of our windows.
These windows, which were all in good condition, were removed from a customer’s home in Minnesota. Since these windows have been in use for 20 years, you can bet that they have seen and withstood brutal Minnesota winters and humid summers.
To see how the windows were able to resist various elements, tests were done on site, and more extensive testing was performed in the lab. The result: the windows were still strong and easy to open, and they showed no cracking, chipping or peeling even after 20 years of use.
