View Samples During Different Times of the Day
You’re not expected to choose your entry door color right off the bat, but you should at least have a few colors in mind before you start reaching out to your door contractor. When you do, ask your contractor for color samples or swatches. Some colors look different during different times of the day, and the best way to narrow down your choices is to see how they will look against your home’s existing color palette.
Take your samples, and place them on the porch or anywhere near the front door. View them during different times of the day, from sunrise to sundown. Eliminate colors that don’t seem to work. By the end of the day, you should be able to narrow down your choices down to one or two.
